Imagine that for Thanksgiving dinner you didn’t have to take off work. That there were no flights, no booking, no frigid Megabus rides down the coast. What if for Thanksgiving you could simply leave your apartment, in your 20,000 sq ft mansion, and walk down the hall, to join the rest of your family, extended family, and friends who were already waiting at the table.

Reggie Van Lee, a former Alvin Ailey dancer has made this dream a reality for his family and friends. The retired performer just recently retired from his job as an Executive VP at a Houston Consulting firm and moved into his dream home with the rest of his family and friends in tow. He got the idea after being invited to the Kennedy Compound in 1976, and made it his goal to create a place where he and his entire family could live together.

The home itself is enormous. I’m talking a hair salon, full sized pool comes with its own church enormous. When 59- year-old Van Lee invited his three sisters and their families to come stay with him on the incredible estate in Houston, TX, he made sure that each of them had their own separate living quarters. Each family has their own apartment inside the home complete with bathrooms, laundry facilities, and their own independent kitchens.

Van Lee’s career portfolio is about as diverse as they come. He not only danced with the Alvin Ailey Company, he also worked with the Clinton Foundation and was appointed to several committees by President Obama. He even has a framed photo with Civil Rights activist Rosa Parks proudly displayed in his home.

Despite his success, Van Lee isn’t the one footing the entire bill. His sisters also contribute to the household expenses, to make sure that utilities, housekeeping, and food are kept up within the families.

When asked why he decided to build this opulent home for his family, Van Lee’s answer was simple: Love.

“As much as people say ‘That’s so nice of you to do that for your sisters.’ they have no idea the joy I get from this myself," Reggie said

Mr Van Lee and his sisters are #LIFEGOALS for sure.
