Keke Palmer was invited to speak on a panel titled, Congressional Countdown: Who's Got Next? The panel featured the likes of Karen Civil, Meagan Good, Yara Shahidi and Eva Marcille. And while there were many great takeaways from the event, it's Palmer's captivating, yet emotional speech from the event that really resonated with viewers. In a short clip below, Palmer speaks on African American oppression and the feeling of carrying the burden and suffrage of your ancestors on a daily basis.

"Black people have suffered mental health issues..." Palmer opens up. "I remember when I was 13. Why do I keep having anxiety thoughts? I'm carrying the burden of my ancestors. Imagine what it was like, to love somebody and see them get raped. Imagine what it was like to see your momma get taken from you? We carry that burden and we gotta stop hiding from that. I'm sad that that happened to my people and I'm gonna do better today, for their behalf."

What are your thoughts on the video clip? Do you ever feel that you carry the burden of your ancestors or family members?
