Growing up in the 90s, one of the highlights of my day was coming home after school to watch TV. From “Family Matters” to “Hanging with Mr. Cooper”, “Moesha” and “Smart Guy”, my sitcom plate was full.

It looks like the past several years have inspired nostalgia for TV lovers, as several revivals of 90s television shows are gracing the screen.

Beginning with “Boy Meets World” and “Full House”, to next month’s “That’s So Raven” and the upcoming “Foxy Brown”, the returns will take us back to our childhood and teenage years.

Another one of my favorites was “Sister, Sister”, starring the vibrant yet different real-life sister-twins Tamera and Tia Mowry. From their struggles to get good grades, boy and friend troubles to navigating becoming an adult, I identified with many of their storylines and couldn’t wait to see what lesson there was to be learned.

Recently, Tia Mowry-Hardrict, who played Tia Landry on “Sister, Sister”, confirmed that she and Tamera Mowry-Housley, who played Tamera Landry on the show, are working on a reboot!

This is what she recently told Nylon Magazine about the project during an interview:

“We’re looking, right now, for a producer and a writer, someone who can kind of be a leader of the pack in regards to running the show. I thought people would kind of be jumping on it, but it’s a lot harder than my sister, and I thought it would be. Everything in my career has always been a challenge.”

She added that the series renewal is not dead in any way, and that they want to do what they can to make the project a reality.

“We’re moving forward; we’re taking those strides. They’re slow strides, but we’re pushing as hard as we can to make people happy and make our fans happy.”

I think that the reboot is a great idea, and I’d definitely tune in to see what Tia and Tamera’s lives are like. It will be interesting to see what they did after college, whether they are still with Tyreke or Jordan, what they do for a living, whether or not they have children or twins, whether they’re still friends with Roger, etc.

I miss television of the 90s and 2000s, so it will be refreshing to watch old series’ with a new perspective.

What do you think about a “Sister, Sister” reboot? Will you be tuning in?
