This just might be the #BlackestWeddingEver.
This past weekend in New Orleans, Tony Oluwatoyin Lawson, founder of Shoppe Black and Curator Shantrelle P. Lewis jumped the broom at the Ace Hotel in New Orleans.
Lawson and Lewis wanted their wedding to combine their Nigerian and New Orleans roots respectfully, and created the theme #JollofandJambalaya. And while it's the theme that stands out certainly, it's the Second Line after the wedding that's got people talking.
Second lines are a New Orleans brass band filled parade tradition. The "main line" is the main section of the parade, while the "second line" is for those who immediately follow, often dancing simultaneously.
To top it off, 80% of the vendors from the wedding were Black-owned. Watch the video below.
