Boost Your Natural Hair Moisture Levels With These Hair Tools

Keeping natural hair moisturized during the spring and summer is easier than keeping it moisturized during fall and winter. During this time of the year, the air is drier, colder and harsher on our delicate strands so we often have to think outside the box as naturalistas.

Hair products that can be applied to hair can only do so much so we have to try things that will help in other ways. Think it will be a challenge? For some it might if they are not for going the extra mile and in some instances, extra dollars. Here's a list of not-so-common methods and products that will surely give your 'do a moisture boost and keep your strands looking lovely.

Q-Redew hand held steamer
I LOVE the Q-Redew and honestly, I think you will too. This hand-held steamer takes your hair's moisture to a higher level by using warm steam as mist to enhance your hair's natural volume and texture. It hydrates, reshapes and restyles dry hair in minutes with no mess, no fuss, no chemicals - just plain water.

I have a Q-Redew and use it faithfully ever winter because I live in dry Colorado. Finding ways to keep hair and skin moisturized is a never-ending challenge and this steamer is less expensive than a traditional hooded dryer and truly worth the price. ($69.99)

Beauty Town Luxury Wide Band Satin Bonnet Cap
This bonnet is new to me but apparently it works great as it is getting excellent reviews on Amazon. The Beauty Town satin bonnet is a Coconut Oil Treated Cap with coconut oil in the bonnet. Clever and a great way to keep hair soft and moisturized as coconut oil is one of the few natural oils that will moisturize skin and hair. Great price, simple tool and has a dual purpose of protecting and moisturizing hair while you sleep. ($3.99)

Shower Filter
T3 Source Shower Filter In-Line
A shower filter like the T3 Source Shower Filter In-Line shown above is an excellent way to keep deposits from drying out your hair. Chlorine is one of the real culprits behind dry, damaged hair and a survey of public water* shows that regular household water can contain nearly as much chlorine as that recommended for swimming pools.

If you live in an area with hard water your hair is suffering because of it and one of the best ways to cut down on dryness is adding a shower filter. Your skin and hair will thank you for it! ($70.00 - this particular model)

Crane Droplet Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier
Fall and winter will rob our skin and hair of moisture but so will our heated homes as we crank up the thermostat. One of the best ways to keep warm but add some moisture to the air and our hair is a good old fashioned humidifier like the Crane Droplet Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier shown above.

Humidifiers help to put moisture back into the air and back into your skin and hair. They are great for using at night while sleeping and will give your hair a fighting chance this fall and winter. ($39.99 - this particular model)

José Eber Therapy RX Moisture Boosting Tool
Another new product for me to hear about is this flat iron looking moisture boosting tool. The Jose Eber Therapy RX Conditioning Tool is the most expensive item on the list ($200) but it's loved by some naturals. It is a revolutionary moisture boosting tool that never uses heat but uses
anti-microbial UV technology, far infrared heat technology and Ultrasonic Vibration Technology to enhances and boosts the benefits of topicals and treatment products.

From the cheapest, ($3.99) to the most expensive ($200) you have serious options for bringing your hair's moisture levels to new heights no matter your needs or budget. I'm sure we will be seeing some of these items in our Christmas stockings!

What's your Holy Grail hair tool for moisture this fall and winter?
